Another year that flew by. I seriously still think it’s 2020 sometimes. I’m hoping 2022 is better for everyone and that we all read lot’s of good books.
I wanted to share some stats and favourites from 2021! I managed to read 132 books somehow and I have so many new favourites to share with you. A new favourite author discovered in 2021: Alice Oseman – the Heartstopper series is undeniably adorable and real. I can’t wait to see the TV show they are creating from the books.
A Book the made me laugh and cry: The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood – one of the best fake dating romances I’ve ever read.
The book I put the most tabs in: A tie for this one. For fiction I put the most tabs in Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen. It was an awesome fantasy. For nonfiction I put the most tabs in This Changes Everything by Naomi Klein. A book about climate change and capitalism.
Book I read the fastest because it was unputdownable: Another tie between House of Earth and Blood by SJM and The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen. Both amazing fantasies that I could not stop reading.
Cutest romance: Eight Perfect Hours by Lia Louis. I just loved the meet cute in this one and then the whole book was just sweet.
Steamiest romance: A Lot Like Adios by Alexis Daria. If you like steam, you need to check out this series.
Favourite Nonfiction: The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert. A look at how climate change is effecting various ecosystems.
Favourite Young Adult: Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon. OMG just so cute. A story of grief and recovery and young love. And it had dancing which I love.
The book that made me cry the most: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Rocky will live in my heart forever.
Favourite Thriller/Mystery: Woman On the Edge by Samantha Bailey. The premise of this one was just so interesting. Definitely check it out!
