Happy New Year! Here’s hoping 2022 is a better year for all of us. I had a great holiday and I’ve been using my new book journal so much already. But today I wanted to share my planned TBR and Angie Way schedule for January. I made myself the goal to make more time for other hobbies and not just reading. I read 132 books in 2021, and while I am impressed with myself. I did a lot less yoga and running because I was always reading. And maybe that’s okay too. I’m not as interested in being super active like I once was. Sitting with a tea and a book is very relaxing for me and helps me wind down. And we all know how stressful the past 2 years have been. So it makes sense that I have doing more of the relaxing hobby. But I miss doing yoga and I miss running. So I’m giving myself less reading obligation this year. What does that mean exactly? Well usually I would schedule about 100 pages a day to read. January I’m scheduling 60 pages a day. I would usually have 8-9 books on the schedule. This month I have 5. I’m sure I will still read extra books, but I’m not going to put as much on the schedule. I have a few new trackers in my book journal as well, you can check the whole thing out here.
Book on my TBR:
- Vicious by V.E. Schwab – this one is a buddy read.
- Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson – this one is on my Series list and is a buddy read.
- Lion by Saroo Bailey – this one is on my list of 22 books for 2022 and is my non fiction read for January.
- Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse – this one is also on my list of 22 books for 2022.
- Circus of Wonders by Elizabeth Macneal – This is an ARC from Simon and Schuster that releases February 1.

The extra books I have on the list so far are The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan, which is the second book in The Wheel of Time series. It’s a whopping 633 pages so it will take me a while. I also finished The Bridge Kingdom right at the end of the year so I’m definitely adding book 2 of that series to the extra list. I’m sure I will also pick up a library book or an audiobook this month too but I don’t know what those will be yet.
I’m also prepping this month for Bookish Month of Love which will be happening for the third year in a row starting February 1! We are going to read all the love stories! Stay tuned for more details on that.

Here is my January Angie Way! If you don’t know what the Angie Way is, check out this post. Basically it’s how I stick to my TBR and prioritize arcs and buddy reads. This month I’ve got 1 ARC and 2 buddy reads on the schedule. Then I picked 2 books from my 22 books for 2022 plan. That’s a lot of 2’s!
What are you planning to read in January?
Happy reading!
Angie
Good luck, I am setting up my angie way now with 8 books and 2 extras on my tbr this month. Hoping I can get to them all most of them are big books so I have to read 152.5 pages a day. Good thing I am working from home this week.
